Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs, 2018 Winter Release Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Karen Baker. The 2018 Winter Release is composed of three collections. There are a few other new and exciting items in the store too: Envelope Liner Die, White Envelopes, Ultrawhite Envelopes and Cut & Stick Adhesive Paper.
Today, I am focusing on the Smitten Collection.
Happy Valentine’s Day

When I received my creative team package I immediately had to play with the Rose Stencil. It is gorgeous!!!
To create this card you will want to begin by applying texture paste to the stencil on a smoke card panel. As shown in the pictures, texture paste was not applied to the entire stencil. While the texture paste is still wet apply Wow! In the Pink embossing powder and heat set. The texture paste will expand a little bit. Set aside and work on the sentiment. Color a piece of white cardstock using party dress ink and then die-cut the love connection die that fits with the sentiment. Use the circles dies and die-cut a vellum piece and a smoke piece. (Tip: The vellum did not adhere well to the textured panel, hence why the additional layer was helpful.) Use the happy valentine’s day sentiment from the Doodle Hearts stamp set and stamp on your vellum circle using rockin’ red and then clear heat emboss. Adhere the sentiment layers and then use a strong adhesive to adhere it to the card panel. I used foam tape and a liquid glue. Finally, adhere the card panel to your card base.

Make Your Heart…

I was not ready to put the Rose Stencil away, so I created this card using ink blending. Use the Rose Stencil to ink blend on a sand dunes panel. Starting from the center of each rose and working outward, apply the darkest color, rockin’ red, then party dress and finally be mine. White heat emboss the sentiment found in the Doodle Hearts stamp set. Apply Nuvo crystal glaze to the centers of the roses. Once the glaze is dry adhere the panel to the card base.
Love Ya!

I am super excited to share this card with you. It is a 5-1/4″ square card. The stamped panel is 5″ square. The image used to create this design is found in the Say it With Love stamp set and is stamped using rockin’ red ink. To make it easier, I used a stamp positioning tool. First find the midpoint of the 5″ square panel. Position the stamp so the bottom tip is touching the midpoint and the top tip is facing the center of the top 1/2 of the card panel. Stamp and then rotate the panel 90 degrees and stamp again. Do this two more times and then reposition the stamp and stamp the four corners. Now it is time to create your sentiment. Using the circles dies, die-cut a larger circle from vellum and a smaller circle from white cardstock. Heat emboss using Wow! Metallic Gold Rich Pale on white cardstock the sentiment from the Doodle Hearts stamp set. You will also want to heat emboss the edge of the vellum circle with the same gold embossing powder. Adhere the sentiment and the card panel using foam tape. (I wanted to do several of these in different colors, but time got away from me.)

Be Mine

How about some simple copic coloring?! For this card you will want to stamp a background on white cardstock using both the Doodle Hearts stamp set and the Say it With Love Stamp Set. I colored the Doodle Hearts to resemble a rainbow. The filler hearts are stamped using rockin’ red. Use the Love Connection dies to create the layered sentiment. There are five layers of the hearts and three layers of the inside piece. Use rockin’ red ink with a blending tool to color the top layer of the sentiment panel. Stamp the sentiment from Say it With Love stamp set in midnight ink. Let it dry. Glue all of the layers together. Then apply Nuvo crystal glaze to the center of the sentiment and to the centers of the rainbow colors hearts. Once the glaze is dry you can finish assembling your card.
Love Ya!

For my final card I had to create something using purple. This card uses stamps from both the Say it With Love stamp set and the Doodle Hearts stamp set. You will also use the circles die for the sentiment. Create a background using the stamp where there are two hearts facing each other. Use sugared lavender ink and royal treatment ink to stamp the background, alternating the color for each row. This stamp is super easy to line up and stamp using a block. Use the same two colors to ink blend on white card stock. You will use this to stamp the sentiment and then die-cut. Adhere the panel to the cardbase with your favorite adhesive and then adhere the sentiment with foam tape. This would be another fun card to create in multiple color schemes and even heat emboss.
Thank you for spending some time with me. I hope you were inspired. Enjoy the rest of the hop =) Tracie
