Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs, Storybook Collection Blog Hop. You should have arrived from the amazing Ilina.
The Storybook Collection is a combination of three bundles and four new Spa inks. The bundles are: A Page from the Book, Enchanted Forest and Father’s Day. The inks are: Rouge, Sage, Lemongrass and Queen for a Day. Clickable links to these collections and their contents can be found at the end of my post.
I had the pleasure of creating with the Enchanted Forest bundle, which is filled with nature.
You Make My Heart Flutter
The first thing I do when I receive new stamps and dies is snip my dies apart and then place the stamps and dies in storage pockets. When I was snipping apart the Forest Foliage Dies a couple of the leaf dies made me think of peppers.
See below on how I created the pepper stamps.
The peppers were stamped using the following spa inks: Rouge, Mandarin Spice, Lemongrass, and Eucalyptus.
Once the edges of the peppers were colored, I added a bit more color to one side of the peppers by gently touching them directly to edge of the ink pads.
I had a bit of a struggle with what to do for the sentiment, but I wasn’t going to give up! Then my husband rescued me and suggested I use, you make my heart flutter. So, these are hot peppers =)
This card is really simple. Take three of the pepper die-cuts and attach them with foam adhesive to a white cardbase. The sentiment is stamped using Midnight ink and is from the Fluttering Friends stamp set.
As shown above I stamped several peppers. So I created this card with my leftover peppers. Just attach them to a white card base using your favorite adhesive. The dots are found in the Eat, Sleep Create stamp set and were stamped using Black Jack ink. The sentiment is white heat embossed on midnight cardstock and then trimmed and adhered to the cardbase with foam tape.
Happy Birthday
Background stamps are always a lot of fun! To create this card I started out by stamping the F as in… Background stamp using Rose Petals ink on white cardstock. One of the “F” words is flowers. This inspired me to incorporate a flower.
First I created a matted frame using the circles dies. To figure out what size of circles dies you need you will need to determine the size of your flower. Create the inside colored frame by applying Rose Petals ink directly to white cardstock and then die-cut when it is dry using the smaller circle die. Use the next large sized circle die to die-cut a piece from the center of the stamped background panel. Pay close attention to placement of your die-cut circles so they layer nicely together.
Stamp a checked border using Rose Petals ink, along the bottom of a white cardbase. This stamp can be found in the Just Wonderful Floral stamp set.
Trim a little bit off the bottom edge of the stamped background panel and adhere with foam tape to the colored mat that was created earlier. Use this as your guide and stamp the flower found from the Just Wonderful Floral stamp set on the white cardbase where the opening is. The solid portion of the flower is stamped using Rose Petals ink and the detail is stamped using Rouge ink. The leaf is stamped using Sage ink. The flower stem was drawn in using a Zig Blender pen and Sage ink.
Create a Rouge piece of cardstock by applying the ink directly to a piece of cardstock to fit a sentiment. Once the cardstock is dry, white heat emboss the sentiment which can be found in the Fluttering Friends stamp set. Then trim the sentiment with the smaller circle die.
Finally assemble your card.
Thank you for spending some time with me. Enjoy the rest of the hop =) Tracie

The peppers are just beautiful. I like the shading. And the flower on the other card looks so pretty. It is a simple, Nordic design, which I just love. The text behind it is a nice choice. I am really enjoying the blog hop because I am seeing new ideas, and adorable stamped images, and dies. I am new to CP, and think that I will need to get the Fluttering Friends stamp set because I am IN LOVE with it. The birds just make me happy. The look fun to color, too. I’m so glad that you were able to fix your blog post. Have a nice day tomorrow 🙂

Leaves becoming chili peppers! Wow! Very cool, indeed!
Why did you cut the dies out of craft foam? Was it to have a more solid surface than from the stamps? My stuff hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t see the stamps!
