Altenew Educator Certification Program | Easy Ink Blending Techniques

Hello Everyone! Yay, I am back with another fun project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by the Easy Ink Blending Techniques class and was taught by the talented Amy Lee.
For my card I used two new to me Altenew sets; build-a-flower aster and birthday builder. My inspiration was to create a simple ink blended background, but I wanted to implement another technique too. So, I decided to create an embossed resist background. First, I created a white heat embossed background using the Altenew birthday builder stamp set. I left the stamp set adhered to the packaging, applied versamark and gently pressed Bristol smooth cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) onto it. Then I applied the white embossing powder and heat set. Finally, I ink blended a combination of Altenew volcano lake ink and Altenew Carribean sea ink over the heat embossed background. Ink blending on Bristol smooth is so easy and has a beautiful result. Let it sit for a few minutes to dry a little bit and then take a cloth and gently rub over the embossing to remove any ink that may be on them.

I wanted to add a large floral element to the card. So, I stamped and die-cut the Altenew build-a-flower aster. I stamped the layers in Altenew buttercream and purple wine, omitting the outline layer. These colors are lovely together. The large flower was attached to the card panel with foam tape. Then the card panel was adhered to the card base with a tape runner.
Here is a close-up of my card. I wanted to add a simple embellishment so I selected Nuvo glitter drops. I applied a few of the Nuvo glitter drops on the card panel and to the center of the flower.
