Hello Everyone! I am happy to be sharing a fun project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. My card was inspired by the Irresistible Inking Techniques class that was taught by, Sara Naumann.
For my card I decided to give stamp block inking a try. I knew of creators using this technique, but I had never tried. It actually is a great way to create a fun background. Just apply ink to a stamp block and spritz with water. Then apply directly to cardstock. Let it sit momentarily so the ink will absorb into the cardstock. You will get different results depending on how much water you apply to the stamp block.
I proceeded to heat emboss a beautiful flower and butterfly and then lightly watercolor them. Since I was using cardstock and not watercolor paper, I had to be careful with how much water I was using. I used a craft sheet for my palette and applied a couple of light layers to both the flower and the butterfly. I really like how the yellow background peeks through the images. The colors work so well together. It was fun using Altenew inks to watercolor.
Once the watercolored panel was dry, I adhered it to a colored mat that enhanced the darker shade in the flower. I heat embossed a sentiment on the lower portion of an A2 cardbase and then adhered the panel. Then I added a couple of clear sequins with nuvo glitter drops in the centers.
I really did not know how this card was going to turn out. It was a new technique for me and I am happy I gave it a try. It is fun using ink pads for something other than stamping.
Thank you for stopping by. I will be back soon.
