Altenew Educator Certification Program | All About Layering 1

I am honored to be part of the inaugural class of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Altenew is well known for its floral stamps and I love ALL of them! In addition, Altenew has several outstanding product lines and continues to add more. Altenew and their team are kind and full of inspiration. This is my first submission to the program and it is All About Layering. Nicole Picadura did a fantastic job teaching the class.

For my card I created a loose cluster of flowers and leaves using the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set. I was inspired by Nicole’s advice that layered stamping does not have to be “perfect”. It is okay to offset layers a little to add some character. I just wanted to create a simple design, so I used one of the larger roses and stamped it three times in a close triangular pattern. To add a little bit of interest I positioned the roses with the top portion pointing in different directions. I did not worry about stamping the layers “perfectly”. The flowers are stamped using Altenew Crisp Inks: Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Midnight Violet. Then I stamped the leaves. I started with the large solid leaves (Altenew Crisp Ink Frayed Leaf) and then added the small outline leaves (Altenew Crisp Ink Forest Glades).

The sentiment is from the Altenew Painted Butterflies stamp set. I love how the sentiment pops on the black cardstock and heat embossed in bright white. Since I wanted to keep this card simple, I added only a couple of Ebony Black Nuvo Drops for an embellishment. I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment strip and adhered to the card panel. I added some craft foam to the card panel and adhered it to the card base. Now the card is ready to send to a friend.
