Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs, Hello Sunshine Collection Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Susan. The Hello Sunshine Collection is filled with Summertime fun for everyone…..Flowers, sunshine, ice cream, flip flops and more.
The Hello Sunshine Collection is a combination of four bundles (I Scream You Scream, Fun in the Sun, Sunshine Flowers & Whimsy) and the Spring Fling mini ink collection. Clickable links to these collections and their contents can be found at the end of my post.
I have seven cards to share with you today, so I will be going over them quickly. I am happy to answer questions. Please leave in the comments and I will reply as soon as possible.
Life is short….
In honor of the release of the Spring Fling mini inks, I created this fun striped background. The stripes are ink blended on white cardstock using a make-up brush. I used copy paper as a mask. The ink blended panel is trimmed down to 3-3/4″ x 5″. Once the ink blended background panel is completely dry, white heat emboss the sentiment from the Sunshine Flowers stamp set. Assemble the card using foam tape.
Bloom…
This is the first card I created using the Whimsical Blooms stamp set and I love it! Everyone knows how I feel about flowers and bloom where you are planted speaks to me. Stamp three of the floral clusters and then stamp the sentiment near the center of them. Sprinkle in some stamped dot clusters and add a couple of sequins. Trim panel to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhere to cardbase.
Hello Beautiful
The Whimsical Blooms stamp set has so many possibilities. This card shows how you can easily create a butterfly with the large flower detail stamp. I stamped the butterflies directly on the white cardbase. Add a little Melon Ice to the inside portion of the stamp and Bellini to the outside. Do not be too fussy and worry about all of your butterflies being the same. Just apply the inks, stamp and let your butterflies be unique. Use sequins to create the bodies and an ink blender pen (Twilight) to draw in the antennae.
Create a layered sentiment panel using the Fitted Frames dies. Die-cut two of the smaller frames, one in white cardstock and the other in mirrors cardstock. Ink blend the white die-cut frame with Twilight ink. To create the Mirror border, trim a section from the center of the die-cut and then adhere the ends under the ink blended die-cut. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock, trim and adhere to the sentiment frame and adhere to card.
Hello Beautiful Two
And another card using Whimsical Blooms stamp set and Fitted Frames dies. This is a fun, layered card created with Whimsical Blooms patterned paper. The designs in this patterned paper collection are gorgeous. To separate the patterned papers you will notice there is a trim using mirrors. This was accomplished the same way as the sentiment frame on my prior card. The sentiment is white heat embossed on vellum. The layers are adhered on a white cardbase and a couple of sequins were added.
Hello
This card was created using the Throwing Confetti cover plate die, Sunshine Flowers stamp set, Sunshine Flowers dies and Whimsical Blooms stamp set. I was inspired by my pile of ink smooshed backgrounds to create this card. The flowers are white heat embossed and then die-cut. The leaves are stamped on white cardstock and die-cut. First stamp using the back of the stamp and then stamp the detail, both in Lime Rickey ink. Die-cut Throwing Cofetti using white card stock. Trim both the blue ink smooshed cardstock and Throwing cofetti die-cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and adhere. I had extra sentiments from a prior card and used the hello portion and adhered to a Midnight cardstock mat. Figure out floral placement and assemble card. Add glossy accents to the centers of the flowers and set-aside to dry.
Yum
This card uses Funky Alphabet stamp set, Whimsical Blooms stamp set and Whimsical Blooms patterned paper. The Funky Alphabet is a fun whimsical alphabet set and also includes several accent pieces. So versatile!!!
We live only 2-1/2 hours away from the Cherry Capital of the world, Traverse City, MI. But there is a local cherry grower 20 minutes away. It won’t be long and the cherries will be ready. I thought this would be a great card to give to the farmer.
Stamp the sentiment in midnight ink and clear heat emboss. Then stamp the cherry hanging from the y. Add some glossy accents to the cherry. So fun! Decorate the lower portion of the card with patterned paper and a black cardstock strip.
You are Loved
This card uses Whimsical Blooms patterned paper, You are Loved die and Flourish & Whimsy stencil.
First use the Flourish & Whimsy stencil to stencil over a piece of the flourish patterned paper. I used a silver glitter paste. Set aside to dry. It will be ready when the remaining card elements are complete.
Die-cut You are Loved three times in Midnight cardstock. Adhere together and coat with three layers of clear embossing powder. Note: I thought this die-cut was going to be really fussy cutting and adhering the layers, but it was super easy. Die-cut a circle using vellum to mat the sentiment. This helps make the sentiment stand out better on the busy background.
Cut a Midnight cardstock panel to 4″ x 5-1/4″. Check to see if the stenciled patterned paper is dry and trim to 3-3/4″ x 5″.
Assemble the card.
Thank you for spending some time with me. Enjoy the rest of the blog hop!
