Welcome to Day 1 of the Catherine Pooler Designs Kind of Batty Release Blog Hop. This is a fun and inspirational three day blog hop. You should have arrived here from the amazing Ilina Crouse.
Kind of Batty | Have you wondered how this name came about? Well this is actually two releases in one. We are releasing both the Kind of Wonderful release and the Going Batty release at the same time. Kind of Batty. Makes sense now, doesn’t it?! Lots and lots of crafty goodness heading your way! I almost forgot….there are two new ink colors too, Twilight (light gray) and Sand Castle (light brown).
Today I have two cards to share with you. The items I used are focused on the Kind of Wonderful release. I will be sharing three more cards on Friday focusing on the Going Batty release.
Thanks For Being You

Start out by stamping the Angled Squares Background on a piece of 3-3/4 x 5 inch white card panel. Then stamp and die-cut flowers and leaves from the Rose Garden Stamp and Die Set. Arrange the flowers (this may take awhile) and when you are happy use press ‘n seal to help keep them together for easy placement on your card. Just lay the press ‘n seal over the arrangement and then turn over and apply adhesive. Most of the arrangement should be together. There may be a couple of items that need more adhesive once you have them placed on the card panel. Create a fun sentiment panel. Stamp the sentiment in Midnight ink on white cardstock. Then color a piece of white cardstock, that is larger than the stamped sentiment, with Lime Rickey ink. Glue the sentiment panel together and adhere to the card panel. At this time it is best to adhere the card panel to the card base. Finally add some sequins and then some glitter nuvo drops to the center of the sequins.
Color Reference
Background: from top to bottom – Garden Party, Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt
One Large Rose: from base layer to top layer – Bellini, Coral Cabana, Tutti Frutti
Two Small Roses: from base layer to top layer – Shea Butter, Tiki Torch, Tutti Frutti
Small Floral Cluster: It’s a Boy (See how nice just one color looks when creating layers. You do not need three different colors of ink.), Shea Butter
Leaves: Twilight (Again only one color of ink for each layer of the leaves. The color shows a little darker each layer that is added.)

Hello Autumn

For my second card I was inspired by Fall and colorful leaf piles. Use ink smooshing to color a few pieces of watercolor paper. The colors are noted below. Set aside to dry. Once dry use the Hello Autumn dies and die-cut several leaves. Adhere the leaves to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch card panel. Arrange them like a big leaf pile. Adhere a couple of the top leaves with foam adhesive. Trim the portion of the leaves that are overhanging from the edges of the card panel. Ink the edges of a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch white card base with Tiara ink. Adhere the card panel to the card base. Then stamp the sentiment, Hello Autumn, from the Hello Autumn stamp set on a piece of white cardstock. Finally trim and adhere the sentiment.
Color Reference
Card Base Edges: Tiara
Red/Orange: Tiara, Orange Twist, Rockin’ Red
Yellow: Melon Ice, Limoncello
Green: Garden Party, Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt
Blue/Purple: All That Jazz, Flirty Fuchsia, Grape Crush
Sentiment: Limoncello, Orange Twist
