Hello Crafty Friends! This post is in honor of Nanette Tracy. She designed and illustrated both the Kind of Wonderful Stamp Set and the Three of a Kind Die Set, which are part of the Catherine Pooler Designs, Kind of Batty / Kind of Wonderful Release. I love these products and am so, so happy for Nanette. You see, Nanette is kind, supportive and talented. I met her through StampNation. The more I interacted with her and the more I saw her designs and her interactions with others….I had a thought that Catherine made a mistake when she selected me for the creative team. Did she confuse the Tracy’s Tracie’s??? Seriously, I had that thought. I am so proud of Nanette and am looking forward to her future designs. I encourage you to head to her blog and give her some support.
Okay…..I know you want to see some cards. Enough of the mush, right?!
Projects
All three of my cards have the same sentiment, “you are so kind.”
Card One
For this card you will want to start by ink smooshing the background. Take a piece of watercolor paper that is at least 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and ink smoosh using It’s a Boy, Fiesta Blue and Something Borrowed. Set aside and let dry completely. Then use the leftover watercolor pieces from the Hello Autumn card I shared yesterday for Day 1 of the blog hop, here. Use the acorn die from the Hello Autumn Die Set and die-cut several in rainbow colors. Two of the acorns create a butterfly. Take two of the die-cut acorns and glue together in the center, slightly overlapping one. Once the watercolor panel is dry trim to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and stamp the sentiment from the Kind of Wonderful Stamp Set, in versafine onyx black ink. Since you are stamping on watercolor paper it does help to use a stamp positioning tool so you can stamp multiple times. This is stamped three times. Adhere the watercolor panel to an A2 cardbase and then adhere the butterflies.
Card Two
This is a 4-1/4 inch square card. The midnight layer is 4 inches square and the watercolor layer is 3-3/4 inches square.
Create an ink smooshed background on watercolor paper using Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust and Flirty Fuchsia. Once it is thoroughly dry stamp the sentiment in versafine onyx black ink. Adhere the card layers to your card base with tape runner or liquid adhesive. Apply a couple of sequins and then add some glitter nuvo drops to the centers.
Card Three
I could not leave the Three of a Kind Die out, so I created a quick card using scraps. I still had the sentiment in my MISTI from the first two cards, so I started by stamping that on an A2 white card base. Then adhere the layers of the die-cut and adhere to the card base. It fits nicely over the stamped kind. I was just playing and trying things out. I am not one who typically uses a lot of embellishments. But, I do like to experiment. With a glitter gel pen apply to the border of the inner die-cuts and to the tittle or dot of the “i”. Then apply glossy accents. I wouldn’t say it is my favorite card, but it was fun and I do love the die-cut and all of the layers. I will be creating more with it soon.
Congrats again, Nanette!!! You knocked it out of the park with these two products. Hope to see more from you, soon!
