Hello Friends! The Catherine Pooler team has been gearing up for World Card Making Day. In just a couple of days the festivities begin at StampNation. To get things started, Amber’s World, a very special stamp set and coordinating dies were released yesterday.
I created the above three cards with Amber’s World, a beautiful stamp set that contains a floral globe, individual floral elements and also some caring sentiments. For the month of October, Catherine Pooler will be donating a portion of the sales of this stamp set to Amber’s daughter. You see, right after Amber designed this stamp set; Amber, her husband and her son lost their lives in a house fire. There is also a go fund me that was established to help her daughter.
You Make the World a Better Place
This is a 4-1/4 x 5-1/4 inches – top folding card. The background was created by applying Catherine Pooler inks with Clarity Brushes. The colors used were: Lime Rickey, Aquatini and Fiesta Blue. The globe was then stamped in Something Borrowed. The sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then clear heat embossed. Finally a couple of sequins were added and then Nuvo glitter drops were added to the centers. This is a beautiful card to send to a special loved one or friend.
I Miss You
This is a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches – top folding card. It is a simple wreath card using only three elements plus the sentiment. The colors used for the wreath are: Fiesta Blue, Twilight and Pixie Dust. The sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then clear heat embossed. The stamped panel was adhered to a black mat prior to adhering to the cardbase. This is a bright and cheerful card that can be sent to someone missed.
You Make the World a Better Place – Notecard
This is a 3-1/2 x 4-1/8 inches – top folding notecard. It was the first card I created with the Amber’s World stamp set and coordinating dies. I found it easiest to die-cut the globe after it was stamped and colored. First I created a mask and covered the floral area of the globe. Then apply twilight ink to the globe stamp, remove the mask and stamp. Apply It’s a Boy ink to the center of the globe with a Clarity Brush. Then stamp again in Twilight ink. You can heat emboss with Catherine Pooler inks, but I selected to apply VersaMark Clear and then clear heat emboss. It is now time to color the florals with Copics (YG23, RV13, RV25, RV09). Yay!!! Now die-cut the globe. So, so pretty!!!!
Adhere the globe with foam tape to a smoke card panel. Notice the smoke card panel has embossed lines on both the left and the right sides. This adds a nice subtle touch. To complete the card adhere the panel to the notecard base with foam tape. Now you have a nice notecard to use when the time is right.
