Hello Everyone! I am happy to be sharing some of the super fun new products from the Simon Says Stamp – Friendly Frolic release with you. This release has something for everyone: flowers, sentiments, back to school, several cute picture book dies and even some sequins.

The sketch lotus flowers look spectacular colored and even simply heat embossed on colored cardstock. The lotus flowers pair well with the big happy sentiment die. For my card I selected a fun glitter cardstock and vellum. The glitter cardstock was just enough added pizazz to still allow the flower to take center stage. I also added a sentiment from CZ Design’s tabbed sentiments.

Sending Major Hugs

I love the pitcher in the plantiful puns set and had to color it. The vase and flowers are both colored with Faber-Castell polychromos colored pencils. My coloring style is simple with a touch of shading. I love how this pitcher pops on the fog cardstock. The stamped panel is trimmed with a dark gray panel. I used a background stamp, kaleidoscope, from a prior release to stamp on the cardbase. It adds just the right subtleness to the card design. Did you notice that the pitcher, flowers and sentiment are heat embossed in rose gold? So pretty! The sentiment is from CZ Design’s tabbed sentiments.

My final card for today showcases the leafy frame die and a sentiment from the sketch lotus flowers set. I initially wanted to make the leaves green, but I love how detailed die-cut designs in white pop on colored cardstock. So, I decided to die-cut the leafy frame twice in white and then layered them, turning one 180 degrees to add more depth and interest. The leafy frames are glued together and then adhered to a light coral colored card panel. Prior to adhering, I heat embossed the sentiment in clear to get a tone on tone look. Then the completed panel was adhered to a darker shade of coral card base.
