Hello Friends! It has been awhile since I have participated in a challenge. The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Have a Heart felt like a great time to jump back in. Simon Says Stamp is showcasing My Favorite Things and I had a couple of new to me items that were waiting to be played with.
In 2019 I am trying to allow myself more time to create outside of my design team responsibilities and decrease the amount of cards I mass produce for donation. My design team creating is fun, but I have an empty spot because I miss creating just because. I am getting bored with mass producing. I miss entering challenges and I miss taking classes to enhance my skills. Any of you in this same boat?!
Kindness
I was inspired by the theme of this challenge: Have a Heart. I have a soft spot for hearts and I still needed to create with my My Favorite Things, Full of Heart Stencil. For my first card I started by ink blending the heart stencil on a white card base using distress oxide inks: spun sugar, worn lipstick and picked raspberry.
I proceeded to white heat emboss a sentiment from the My Favorite Things, Kind Words Stamp Set on Papertrey Ink, raspberry fizz cardtock. This sentiment strip is adhered to the lower portion of my card with foam tape.
Finally I created a layered die-cut using the kindness die from the My Favorite Things Kind and Kindness Die-Namics. Kindness is three layers of My Favorite Things Insulation Pink Cardstock, which is no longer available. Tickled Pink looks like a close substitute. Adhere the kindness die-cut sentiment with foam tape on the top portion and liquid glue on the lower section to the sentiment strip. Add Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the die-cut sentiment. Use a Pretty Pink Posh, Pink Blush Jewels for the i.

Grateful
I could not just make one card. I was curious to see what it would look like when stenciling delicata inks on a colored cardstock. I used the same stencil as in the first card, My Favorite Things, Full of Heart. I used my delicata shimmer ink cubes (top to bottom: white shimmer, pink shimmer and rose gold) to apply ink to Papertrey Ink, Berry Sorbet Cardstock. To bring in a pop of white I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things, Kind Thanks Stamp Set in distress oxide, abandoned coral on a white die-cut heart (Hero Arts, Infinity Heart Dies). The heart die-cut is adhered with foam tape. I really love the shimmer of this card and the white heart.

These are gorgeous!! And what a great challenge to jump back into. I love the ombré hearts backgrounds. And what a beautiful sentiment to go with it.
I am definitely in the same boat, I never have time to create just to create anymore. I hoping to change that too this year. Thanks so much for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Hope you’ll join us again soon.
